Foundational Rig Mats for Alaska Drilling Operation
PROJECT: Provide Drill Rig Mats for Drilling Operations in Alaska, USA. CHALLENGE: Provide temporary foundations to support drilling operations in the remote north of Alaska. Unfortunately, tundra provides minimal operational support and we would need to alleviate environmental impact and reduce the drilling footprint. SERVICES: In addition to finding and designing a great solution for our client, we also manufactured and transported the final drilling mats to the location for installation. SOLUTION: Our team found a solution in our high-capacity Alaskan Drill Rig Mats, measuring in at 8’ x 30’. These steel frame rig mats have a negligible gap at the interface that creates a smooth safe working surface for employees and equipment, which ideally suited the temporary foundation needs. Because of the steel frame, they can also be welded and repaired on-site as needed, which is vital in remote areas. With our goal of reducing the environmental footprint, we knew these mats would enable the crew to access the job site while employing soil stabilization solutions. |
